Tolinde O (So Perfect x Fürst Toto)

Brown colt by So Perfect (Sezuan x Sir Donnerhall I) from our D-OC broodmare Olinde O (Fürst Toto x Kennedy)

Tolinde O is born with microphtalmia on her left side. Micropthalmia is characterized by extremely small or completly absent eyes.
Unfortunately, little or no research has been done for horses. This trait is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner. This means that an animal can be free, sufferer of carrier. For sheep there is developed a DNA test to detect carriers. At this moment there is nothing availabe for horses, not even a list with possible carriers kept bij the studbook.
